⮔ Genre: criminal!Gidle, criminal universe, angst, !minors do not interact!, inspired by the "Chicago" broadway musical/movie
⮔ Warnings: Cursing, sugestive, mention of sex, mentions of abusive relationship (please do not read, if it triggers you!), murder!

⮔Summary: The 1920s in the city of Chicago were incredibly prosperous for citizens. Everyone seemed to live in a haze of lust, making them spend and flaunt all their riches. Bars full of Jazz, Whiskey, and cigarettes. Indecent women with their fishnet stockings made good men sin, and forget their wives. At the same time, a wave of crime swept through the city.
Everyone who read the newspapers knew them, and even those who pretended not to, as they believed they were too "cult", knew their names, faces, and the crimes that led them to the much-feared "Cook County Jail" of Cook').
So maybe by knowing their true story, they can have their own understanding of their cases. And maybe, who knows, absolve them of their sins.
⮔A/N: 1° These movie/musical characters were inspired by true stories of 1920s Chicago criminals. But this book is just a fictional work of the characters created, and not inspired by the real women (although their stories are amazing too!);
2° As the story is based on Native American people, but the members are Asian, so in this book, they will be part of a small Asian community in Chicago (so the essence of the story remains the same);
3° The rating is +16/+18, so if you are a minor, please do not interact with this book.
Hi again, it's me, your long-forgotten friend! I have had this story written for a while, but university got me stuck, and since the girls dropped the comeback, I thought "why not?" So please receive "Passional Crime" and also be kind, since English it is not my first language! Hope you have a great time xoxo

No, our relationship wasn't bad, or terrible. In fact, I think we were the healthiest couple on our street, or even in our neighborhood.
But the point is: as human beings, individuals… we all have our faults. I myself admit that I have some flaws, like when I read a magazine and leave a few ears on random pages, or even not wash my dishes after I finish my meals. But of course, these are major flaws.
Bernie David was a husband's sweetheart on a general panel, but he had this flaw… Bernie loved popping bubblegum bubbles. No matter the moment, let alone how much you ask, he will always look at you and burst a bubble.
I usually let it go, with a sour and humorous comment at the same time, but then, I couldn't ignore it anymore…
Pop!
Work keeps consuming me more each day. The papers kept arriving in droves, the men were always yelling at me for futile reasons, "You didn't put the comma correctly!", I wanted to throw those papers in my boss's face and have them shoved up his ass because they mistake was committed by Tony, not me. And when they didn't blame me, they looked at me strangely or tried to provoke me, doubting my position. I was on the verge of bursting.
But it's finally Friday, and in theory, I could rest the entire weekend if it weren't for another pile of documents that must be corrected. But it's ok, I know I can. All I need is peace and silence.
Pop!
As soon as I get home, I find my husband in the living room, watching some game that doesn't interest me. I take off my shoes and leave my keys and bags in the right place.
"I'm going to take a shower" I inform Bernie, glancing at him sideways, but the man is apparently having a good day as he turns from his chair towards me, wipes his hands on his pants, and opens his arms with a smile on his face.
"What? No, my love, come here and say hello to your husband that you loves you so much!"
I roll my eyes, but head towards him, after all, I know my bad day isn't his fault, and he always had this scent of clean clothes and soaps that reminded me of home and comforted me. As we break free and I head upstairs to the bathroom, I hear her bubble gum pop on his lips.
Pop!
Showered, papers on the table, I decide to have a snack for my dinner, as I don't want too many difficulties and Bernie is very satisfied with his peanuts, beers and of course, his gum.
As I focus on reviewing the papers, I notice mistakes and more mistakes made by those scoundrels, and I put my 'dinner' aside. I still can't believe I've spent the entire week being made fun of by mediocre men who think they're incredibly better than me because someone told them that. Come on, a five-year-old knows how to write inconsequential. Well, maybe not, but in this case, I truly believe so.
Pop!
Idiot men, donkeys, dicks in the ass. Who was the clueless one that made them believe they're actually better than us women because they have a dick? You see, we bleed every month and we are still alive. That's impressive!
Pop!
"Bernie dear, can you please stop the bubbles? I'm trying to work here!" I use my calmest, sweetest voice when yelling, the last thing I want is for him to tease me childishly.
"Minnie honey, can you please stop screaming? I'm trying to pop bubbles in here!"
Pop!
Of course, he was going to answer me like that, maturity was never his strong point. But I let it go this time.
Pop!
And this one too.
Pop!
He can only be doing it on purpose… "Bernie it's serious!" I try to sound more serious, I need peace, I need to finish this today and be free of everyone, at least on my weekends.
Pop!
Pop!

Pop!
I can't think anymore, I can't focus anymore, and I let the anger and frustration turn my vision red and I don't have complete control over my next actions.
I walk into the living room, with purposeful, heavy, angry steps, past Bernie and his playful smile and ridiculous comment.
"You don't like to pop so much? Let's see what you think of this poping?"
Our hunting rifle is in my hands, and pointing toward him in the chair, as he turns around. All the anger and helplessness he'd felt before dissipated and then he exploded. So was the blood on Bernie's skull from the well-aimed shot to his head.

Alright, let's get started. Please tell me your name.
It's Nicha Yontararak, but I prefer to be called Minnie.
Your age?
24 years
Why were you arrested?
Because I killed my idiot husband with probably the most accurate shot he's ever seen.
And what is your motivation?
The fucking bubble gum!
And how do you declare yourself?
Guilty. But damn it! I warned him! I asked him… But no… He knew what the fuck he was doing!

Six…
They say that the first impression is the one that lasts. But they also say that your attitudes can change how people credited you in the beginning. I've always been the type of person who faithfully believed the first statement until I found it.
Ezekiel Young.
I went to Salt Lake City to visit a cousin who had just gotten engaged, and my spirits were high. She then decided that we had an obligation to walk around town shopping.
And even though it was one of the coldest weeks of my life, my cousin's smile and animation warmed my mood - and her incredibly large and shiny engagement ring in the brunette's hand also warmed my heart.
That's when I found him. And I'm not using the word in a romantic sense, where the two of them have a romantic moment at complete randomness. Our bodies literally met in the middle of the path, in a collision so violent, that my bags flew, and my clothes scattered on the sidewalk.
"Are you all right?" Despite having beautiful blue eyes, and being kind, I was possessed, so no, it wasn't okay. And I made sure he saw that.
"Do you think I'm fine?" I complained, refusing his outstretched hand and getting up on my own, observing some of the damage that was still on the street, as my cousin was supportive in putting my pieces together. "Watch that! Don't you watch where you're going?! You could have killed me!"
I confess that exaggeration is a talent of mine, and I could have easily continued yelling at him in the street, but my cousin stopped me.
So I went two days without remembering the chance, but it was almost impossible when he came to me. Calmer this time - and interested in the coffee he insisted on paying for - I couldn't let myself be carried away by his apologies, blue eyes, and brunette hair. He had this habit of biting his bottom lip whenever I was too quiet, which caught my attention even more.
By the end of the trip, we were already dating. And it wasn't long before we moved into a house.
I was happy, living my movie romance, day after day. We spoke almost always because Ezekiel always managed to be present in my day: he sent me flowers, chocolates, and little notes were hidden in my things… When we got home, I didn't mind cooking and serving, not just his dinner, but also his Whiskey, just the way he always loved it.
But then everything changed.
Six…
The hugs and caresses decreased, the gifts decreased, the notes became smaller, until there were almost no more… And that started to bother me. Not even our nights, which were hot, could stand it and it got colder and colder.
Six…
"I don't know, something stinks here" I comment in a cafe with my cousin, who this time, came to visit me.
"Maybe it's the bad milk" she jokes, laughing to herself at her own joke, but stops when she sees my impassive face. As soon as we arrived at the restaurant, I started to tell him everything about my relationship with Ezekiel, and how it all fell apart. "Calm down cousin, it might be nothing"
"Okay, but what if it's something? What could he be hiding from me?" I retort, uncomfortable with the idea that my almost-husband might be doing it behind my back "I'm Seo Soojin! I'm not born to be deceived by anyone!"
"Okay, okay, since you're suspicious, I think I have an idea…"
My cousin's idea had a name: Charles Hamilton. He was nothing less than a top private detective, apparently uncovering the hairiest secrets of married men in Salt Lake.
That same afternoon we spoke on the phone and agreed on all the terms and details. And I made it very clear that he should tell me everything he found out, regardless of the amount, I had enough money for that. And so, six months passed.
Six…
When I first met Charles Hamilton he was completely different from the old, white-haired, hunchbacked, and wrinkled man I imagined him to be. He was just the opposite, tall, square-faced, clean-shaven, starting to gray now. And incredibly fragrant. God!
"Good morning, Miss Young!" He greets me, smiling briefly, which gets my attention even more. Without wasting time, I lift my hand, so he can take it - which he does, smiling bigger.
"Please, Soojin," I ask smiling and sitting in front of him. We got down to business without much delay.
Turns out Ezekiel Young had not just one wife, not two, not three. Ezekiel Young kept six wives.
Six fucking wives.
Six…
All the business trips he claimed to be taking all this time were to see his wives again…California, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, Kansas, and Nebraska. Six women in six states.
"I'm sorry Miss Soojin, but apparently your husband is a Mormon," Charles says after handing me all the pictures of Ezekiel with his women. My stomach did a flip, and I felt sick.
"Motherfucker" I complain, still in disbelief, and Charles looks at me with pity, scratching his throat. I look at this incredibly handsome man and decide I'm not going to come out at the bottom of this situation, and I prepare for the biggest performance of my life. "What do I do now?!"
I start to cry softly into my napkin, the most forced tears, and the last ones I've ever shed. Charles sits in the chair next to me, handing me his handkerchief to replace the napkin, and speaks again:
"Apparently, Ezekiel is a Mormon… it's common for them to…"
"Am I ugly?" I cut him off, putting on my best silly face, and it had an effect. Five more minutes of dramatic theatrics, mixed with some well-veiled seduction, and I fucked Charles Hamilton in the bed I share with Ezekiel Young.
As soon as the detective left, with promises that he would return to help me with whatever I needed, I decided that I would make it very clear to my husband that he should never have tried to deceive me.
Everything goes on as a normal day. I clean our house, prepare our food and take a special bath, making sure I smell better than usual. I wear my best outfit and do amazing makeup.
Six…
My efforts clearly didn't go unnoticed by the brunette, who smiled happily when he saw me. Ezekiel grabs me, trying to kiss me, but I deflect by pretending to be charming. And he falls for it.
We sit down to dinner normally, and when he sits down to watch his TV, I hand him his special whiskey. I make a point of sitting on his lap and caressing his face.
"Want to know a funny thing that happened today?" I ask using a velvety voice, I see I've got his attention and I continue, but only after he takes a big gulp of alcohol. "I had sex with a guy named Charles in our bed."
As soon as I say my last words, I see them make sense in Ezekiel's brain, who jumps to his feet, practically throwing me away as if he hadn't expected it. And that's why I recover so quickly.
"What did you said, bitch?" he asks, and I see his anger rise to his face. I smile to tease him.
Six…
"Didn't you hear honey? Your wife fucked another guy in your bed!" I speak louder and stronger. Ezekiel finishes his drink in one gulp and laughs. Dumb.
"Stupid bitch!" The empty glass is tossed towards me and he's under my neck, squeezing to knock the air out of me, which only works for a few minutes, and he notices it too.
"What's wrong baby? Are you weak?" I raise an eyebrow smiling and pushing him hard. Ezekiel falls.
"You should call one of your other six wives to save your life, honey." I approach her already extremely pale body and smile holding her face "messed with the wrong bitch"
Six…
I had a perfect escape plan, and I was just about to make it out of the house when the police arrived. Apparently, my neighbor heard Ezekiel's screams and feared for my life. And in the end, even Charles Hamilton never appeared to say anything. Motherfucker.
Six…

Poderia ter me matado!"
E aquilo começou a me incomodar.
E incrivelmente cheiroso. Deus!
"Bom dia, senhorita Young!"
Peço sorrindo, e me sentando a sua frente.
Ezekiel me agarra, tentando me beijar, mas desvio fingindo ser charme. E ele cai nessa.

⮔A/N: 1° These movie/musical characters were inspired by true stories of 1920s Chicago criminals. But this book is just a fictional work of the characters created, and not inspired by the real women (although their stories are amazing too!);
2° As the story is based on Native American people, but the members are Asian, so in this book, they will be part of a small Asian community in Chicago (so the essence of the story remains the same);
3° The rating is +16/+18, so if you are a minor, please do not interact with this book.
Hi again, it's me, your long-forgotten friend! I have had this story written for a while, but university got me stuck, and since the girls dropped the comeback, I thought "why not?" So please receive "Passional Crime" and also be kind, since English it is not my first language! Hope you have a great time xoxo

❤️ A/n: Hi! Just want to say two things real quick: I didn't had time to see if there's mistakes at the writing, so it probably have a lot, please try to ignore; and I do not speak Mandarin/Chinese, so I also don't know if these words are correct. Please let me know if not so I can correct. Have a nice reading!
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, NO!
It's all a big mistake! You can't imagine what they did with two innocent lives. I lost the great love of my life, and the blame still fell on me, as if it were some kind of 傻屄¹ (shǎ bī)!
Liu Yan was the love of my life! We met when we were still kids in Taoyuan County, everyone always said that we were destined to be together. Our families have always been best friends, which means there hasn't been a day in my life when Yan hasn't been there. We knew we had no choice but to like each other, so despite being slightly forced, our friendship has been sincere since the 1st.
We went to school together, we had the same cycle of friendships, and we always told each other everything, but none of that sparked the love between us. Well, my love for him, as I found out years later, was that Liu had always loved me, but I was the blind one.
After a 6-month trip, I realized that he is missing in my life when he is not there. The days seemed endless, and the time zone he was in made our almost endless communication difficult. And I confess that despite being practically dying of homesickness, I only realized my feelings for the brunette when one of our friends wondered if he would find love in the country where he was.
The thought of seeing Liu Yan, my Liu Yan with someone else, doing everything we've always done, not being by my side all the time, without your displays of affection, without your lame jokes…
In the end, we got married, and for our honeymoon, Yan wanted to bring me to the United States, where he had been visiting for six months. And even with my language barrier, I believed in her local language skills and her knowledge of Chicago. If I could, I would never have come.
uh uh!
We had a perfect schedule of what we were going to do that day. Everything perfect. But as we walked across a bridge, Liu noticed that the lake was completely frozen over, which would be an excellent opportunity for us to go skating.
"But we're out of skates" I tried to be rational, but he opened his excited smile, held my face with both hands, and assured me, looking into my eyes "Nothing bad will happen while I'm here, 我的宝贝²! (Wǒ from bǎobèi)"
uh uh...
Liu then took my hand and led us to that side. I was still very uncertain about the idea, so I took uncertain steps to the edge of the site. I stood there as I watched Yan glide carelessly across the crust of ice.
"Yan, I don't think this is a good idea…let's go, please!" I ask without any courage to step on the ice and try to convince him to get out of there. The shiver that crept up the back of my neck was not from the cold. "宝贝³(bǎobèi)! Nothing will happen! Look at me!" and I looked. But I wished I hadn't.
Uh Uh...
Liu Yan to demonstrate that the ice was firm, took a very strong impulse to jump and roll in the air. That's when I saw, in the most torturous slow motion of my life, he lose his balance and fall backward, hitting his head on the ice.
I then freeze for like five seconds, which felt like an eternity. Immediately the blood that came out of his head, began to spread across that wet surface, creating bloodlines on the ice.
No.
When I look around, I don't see anyone who can help us. Everyone who passed through the bridge was no longer there. There was nobody. I was completely alone, with Liu Yan's body unconscious and losing blood very fast. I had no choice anymore, I was being forced to step on the ice, to reach out to him to help him. But I was stopped.
Uh Uh...
I felt them before I heard or saw them. Two pairs of very strong arms held me firmly in place as I finally made my way to him. They were men and they were holding me and rocking me hard while they were yelling at me, but I didn't understand what they were talking about. I pointed at Liu, trying to make them understand that I should help us, but everything I said only made them squeeze me tighter. I look once more and see other men pulling Liu off the ice, and I breathe a sigh of relief.
My face quickly fills with tears, I thought we would get help, I thought they would take him to the hospital, that they would help us, but my beliefs were quickly proven wrong.
Uh Uh!
"You killed him!" One of the men who held me, squeezed me more, when I tried to reach my husband, I screamed in pain, but he didn't care at all. Another man shouted the same thing at me, but I couldn't make it out right away. I blink then try to clear my mind, and face from the tears.
I need to say I didn't do anything, I need to say it was an accident!
A-a-accident!" I say, pointing to the ice and then to the body full of people wrapped around it. My Liu Yan. I try one more time to get to him, but the men keep squeezing me tighter and tighter, still yelling. They didn't understand me and it started to annoy me. I just wanted to reach Liu, I just wanted to hug him…
"Accident! Accident 二百五! Accident!"
I start pushing and scratching them to let me get to my husband, but that seems to make them even angrier. Liu Yan. I just wanted to get to him, I just wanted to hug him, and remind him that he had to be okay, as he promised me. Prometheus!
Many people started to approach me, I started asking for help, desperately. I just wanted to get to my husband, that's all. I didn't do anything, nothing! They couldn't deny me coming close to his!
Uh Uh...
Even with me shouting profanities to the winds, begging them to help me, nothing made them understand me. All they did was yell at me, shake me, squeeze me, and take me away from him. I was getting exhausted, but I relaxed more when I heard sirens, and even more so when I saw the authorities arriving.
Once again I tried to reach Liu Yan who was still on the ground, but I was stopped. I was forced to watch from a distance, the rescuers reach him, try to revive him, and then cover him with an aluminum blanket. not.
I then grabbed by the police, who continued to shake me, I believe they were asking a question, but I didn't understand them, I couldn't understand what they were saying. I could only see them take the lifeless body of my love.
I was then taken to a police station where I was asked thousands of questions. I only managed to understand when they asked my name and age, and I think they understood me because the frowning man wrote something down when I answered. He asked more questions and repeated them, but my answer didn't seem to be enough. "Accident" and "Innocent" was all I could manage to reply, pissing him off more and more.
I didn't do anything, Liu Yan fell through the ice, and if they had tried to understand me and not condemn me, maybe he would still be alive. Now I would have to live and die with a sentence that didn't fit me. I will have to die, without Liu Yan growing old with me, without being able to give him the family we wanted so much, and without our last moments together.

"宝贝³(bǎobèi)! Nada vai acontecer! Olha pra mim!" e eu olhei. Mas desejei não ter visto.
Uh Uh!
A-a-acidente!" Eles não me entendiam e isso passou a me irritar.
"Acidente! Acidente 二百五! Acidente!"
Prometeu!
Não podiam me negar chega perto do dele!
Uh Uh!
Mesmo comigo gritando profanidades aos ventos, implorando pra me ajudarem, nada os faziam me entender. Tudo o que eles faziam era gritar comigo, me balançar, me apertar e me levar pra longe dele.

Naquele dia nasceu portanto, "As irmãs Kelly".
Cicero!
"Eu sou a verdadeira atração! Sou eu quem eles querem!" Digo, destravando a arma, vendo ambos congelarem no lugar.
Cicero!
Sigo andando, pegando alguns atalhos e becos.

Do not be silly. I might even have liked Charlie, after all, he knew how to appreciate the great star and woman that I am… The problem is, he thought it was a good idea to appreciate my sister. As if she were as excellent as I am…
Cicero!
I knew I was destined for greatness from a very young age, but it all started to take on big proportions when I turned 15. Yes, my body had already started to develop more than other girls, so I attracted more attention from boys. I realized that I got some favors if I wore more revealing clothes, and I have to be honest, the feeling of power that these little moments gave me was indescribable!
My sister, Veronica, didn't have a voluptuous body, but she had charisma and charm, and she also managed a few things in her favor, just by blinking her beautiful eyes and leaning in slightly. Basic flirting.
Our father wasn't a flower that smelled, and our mother we didn't know, so I had to start working early. But no place wanted a 15-year-old girl with huge cleavage and tight skirts to work. None but "Chicago's Fire Ball". I started at the bottom, of course, but waiting tables just wasn't for me. So I soon learned to dance like the women there, I learned to sing, and then I worked my way up to the stage.
Cicero!
I had a conversation with the owner of the bar, and he assured me that if Elô, the "head" of the dancers, approved, I could be on stage. It was then that I had a brilliant idea: what could be better than me, dancing? Two 'I'!
That day, I came home, made my sister my copy - a lesser version of me, but still similar enough - and taught her one of the choreographies that I memorized just by looking at it, adding acrobatics in the sequences. The next day we had a job.
On that day, "The Kelly Sisters" was born. Two perfect girls dancing as one. We were identical, perfectly in sync, flexible, and on top of that, we were hot. We gained fame fast, and then we were in every bar and club that called us. We slept with every man (and even women) until I met Charlie.
Cicero!
Charlie became some kind of partner and adviser. He was amazing! Hot, good-looking, ambitious, and most importantly, he was obsessed with me. He always made comments about how I was doing, and how he would like to "fuck me right". Yeah, I liked being appreciated as I should.
So we were called to perform at a big bar, and we stayed at the nearest hotel, Cícero, just until the show started. We bought drinks to celebrate, and we stayed in my room.
Veronica brought out some specialty cigarettes, and we were making the most of it. We talked about everything, which was pretty much nothing for someone sober, and Charlie kept his kisses and groping blatant and sassy.
We ran out of ice, and as we all know, I'm the real star, so I should be at least a little soberer than Veronica, so I volunteered to go to the big shed behind the building to get some more.
I put on my robe and went. It ended up taking a little longer than expected, as a group of men met me on my way, and mind you, they were fans! I shouldn't leave them thumb-sucking when they see… well when they see me! I answered them calmly, I laughed charmingly, and I let them touch me discreetly, but not deliberately, I invited them to go watch at the bar, and then I went to my room.
Cicero!
That's when I found them. Charlie and Veronica were rehearsing one of our acts, apparently number 17, the "inverted eagle".
While Charlie was sitting in the chair, with his pants down, Veronica balanced herself, with her hands on the man's thighs, head down, sucking him, while keeping her legs wide open, so that he could also suck her.
Cicero!
To say I lost my mind is putting it mildly. I slammed the door, and pushed Veronica's legs, making her fall to the floor. "What the hell is that?!" I spit in disbelief. The ice bucket that was in my hands, soon flew towards the two, who were trying to protect themselves, cover themselves and hold on at the same time, not getting much of anything.
"Calm down Soyeon!" The bitch who shares the stage said, eliciting a snarky laugh from me.
"Calm down?! How long have you guys been fucking? Huh?!" I confess that I started screaming while throwing everything I saw ahead at the two.
"We've never…" Charlie tried to say, but it was obvious I was lying. They probably followed the stunt sequence, in the perfect order. I remembered that he carried a pistol for 'our protection', I run towards it, and as soon as I take it from his suitcase, I point it at the two, who are trying to protect themselves without success.
"Soyeon, think about it…" Once again my sister speaks, with her hands raised, but seeing her skirt falling, made me angrier than before.
"Think? Think about what? How you two were fucking behind my back this whole time?!" I ask, shocking even myself with my outward calm. My blood boiled, but my handheld was still like a rock.
"You forget that I created you. I created you." I look at my sister before continuing to speak, already deciding what needs to be done. "I made you a copy of me. A very nasty and less hot copy of me!" I let out a snarky laugh, seeing the tears roll down my sister's face, and Charlie calculating how long he had to get out of there.
Not a lot.
"I am the real attraction! I'm the one they want!" I say, unlocking the gun, watching them both freeze in place. "you've always been a setback in my life. I hope the fuck was worth it."
Cicero!
I don't know how many times I fired, but I know it was enough to get my face dirty, more than half of the room, and still draw attention from the whole hotel. I need to be quick, so I practically fly to my suitcase, stuffing all the clothes that were outside, and hiding the gun among the pieces. I put on an overcoat over my clothes, and I run out of the hotel and run to the bar where the performance was going to take place.
I never needed Veronica, and it won't be now that that fucker is going to pass me by.
I keep walking, taking some shortcuts and alleys. When I arrive, I'm late, so I can only hide the bag and wash my hands with their blood and introduce myself.
Cicero!
When I reach the backstage of the bar, I'm late, and I run so I can get on stage on cue. That's when I realize my hands are dark, dirty, and sticky.
Blood. In my hand. Veronica and Charlie's blood. They died. I killed them…
I don't have time to focus on that, so I get onstage, and I'm even sexier and hotter than ever. The audience is more receptive than ever, I can feel everything. But you can hear the sirens - lots of sirens - approaching the place. And I knew there was no more time.
I enjoyed every minute of that performance, and when I'm done, I see the cops walk in the front door, and they point those guns at me. In the end, I am taken under thousands of flashes of journalists who arrived at the bar seconds later, I may even be arrested, but I never lose a single moment under the spotlight.
Cicero!

❤️ Chapter: Lipschitz!
❤️ Palavras: 1.057
Nós saímos em encontros, ele me mandava flores, cartões, me dedicava músicas...
"Acho melhor deixar pra lá, meu amor. Alvin é perfeito, e te ama, quase tanto quanto eu"
Eu deveria ter deixado pra lá.
Lipschitz!
Estou vendo meu marido beijar outro homem.
Zombo dele, me aproximando. O empurro fortemente contra a parede, ainda gritando com ele.
Alvin me empurra contra um carro, me fazendo atingir uma janela, e a quebrando.

The 1920s in Chicago were full of jazz, smoke and blood. Nowadays, the final story of these girls would end very differently, probably they would be crucified not only by the court, but also by public opinion, but in the 20s, things were different...
One would imagine that even though they confessed to their crimes, they were women in prison, but they were smart women and they understood that if they knew how to put on a show, they would be fine after all. In the end, all (or almost all) sovereign very well how to take advantage of the sexism of the time.
With the right lawyer, puritanical clothes but cleavage and size enough to show off her assets, all the jury saw was spectacle. After all, these women wouldn't be able to kill someone for real, would they?
And even though most of them were foreigners, and American society at the time really wasn't the most hospitable, only one of the girls ended up on the gallows. The lack of understanding in communication, at all stages, Shuhua was found guilty.
But what cruelty! What an unfair world! The innocent, killed, cruelly, while real milindrosas left with men and more men at their feet!
As for Soyeon, she had the best of outcomes... When another woman was arrested, they created an enmity, which soon became a partnership and friendship. Hungry for fame and more fame, they created an entire show around their stories and spent the rest of their lives, in the spotlight, and every kind of luxury that money could buy.
The others didn't have much to gain by staying where they were, so some traveled, moved, and even remarried. They went on with their lives, as well-known people (I could even use the word celebrity, but I don't think it's the most appropriate term for the situation).
Therefore, I ask you: is justice really blind? Would these women be wrong, for using their sensuality and deceiving men, in the name of their freedom? How long will women be seen as defenseless? And finally, would it be passion, the deadliest feeling of humanity?
