A quick leather bracelet made for @bespokefolds with a laser-engraving of their favorite origami fold pattern. You’ll have to work out for yourself what the pattern makes, or ask them. The color on this is a light green I got relatively recently, and haven’t had a chance to use much yet. It’s labeled as Chartreuse. I like it.
Been really busy with work (architecture job) and getting a pile of gifts done for my family. I managed to get them all cut and stained before flying out, now I just need to sew them together before Christmas. I’ll grab some photos as I go so you all can see.
I made this wallet for my sister as a Christmas gift. It’s the first wallet I’ve made, and I think it actually came out pretty well. Next time I need to give the card pockets just a tiny bit more space at the sides and top, and I need to adjust the order of when I sew which parts of it. But on the whole, quite successful.
The outer shell was stained brown, then everything else got a saturating coat of neatsfoot oil. It should help keep it supple and develop a nice patina as time goes on.
These were the other notebook covers I made for family Christmas gifts. You also get to see me soaking them to put the fold in.
The photo is of the old Cook County Hospital building, which my mom has done a lot of work with over the years. I etched it onto the leather using a halftone pattern to get the gray-scale.
I made a COVID vaccination tag in the style of rabies vaccine dog tags. An easy and fun alternative to carrying around that slip of paper!
Originally inspired by this piece of furry art, though I’ve seen the general idea float around in other forms.
(It’s dated in the future because I just got my first dose last week, so I used the date for my second appointment.)
